STADTWERKE HEIDELBERG I 550 KW

FILM-READY CLIMATE CONTROL SOLUTION: LUXOR FILMPALAST AND STADTWERKE HEIDELBERG

2017

The Luxor Filmpalast in Heidelberg is the world’s first Passive House cinema – and comprises 15 cinemas with 1,800 seats. Stadtwerke Heidelberg uses an adsorption refrigeration system from FAHRENHEIT for its air conditioning. The drive heat comes from a nearby wood-fired power plant.

Since the cooling energy is needed especially in the hot months, the system helps the municipal utilities to stabilize the base load of its power plants with combined heat and power. As a result, they can also generate more electricity from renewable energies in summer . Renewable energies win.
